Adry Rosario, Optometric Technician

Yvonne Derickson is the Staff Nurse. She has over 20 years experience as an optician and is a Florida Registered Nurse. Yvonne has a gentle "bedside manner" that makes her patients feel comfortable and confident while under her care.

Yvonne's optical experience includes many management and leadership roles including Ophthalmic Dispensing Instructor for Doctoral students at Nova Southeastern University. Now, patients call upon her for everything from optical prescription questions to diabetic dietary counseling.   Oh, and also if they need a hug.  She's really good at giving hugs......

Nathaly has been with Dr. Derickson and staff for 3 years.  She's the primary technician who "works up" the patient before Doc sees them.  She was born in Bogota, Colombia and is fluent in Spanish.  She absolutely loves her job...... You could tell because she's always smiling.  She's sweet as can be to every patient that walks through our door, even if they're mean and rude and probably don't deserve it.  How does she do that??

Adry is a technician here at DVC, performing patient work-ups before they are seen by Dr. Derickson.  She is a 2009 graduate of Everest University and she has a medical assistant degree.  When she's not running around the office doing something for Doc, you may catch her dining at the local neighborhood Bojangles'.  Mmmm, she LOVES THAT CHICKEN.....

At Derickson Vision Consultants, Dr. Derickson and his staff have taken great care and effort in providing an atmosphere that is fun and comfortable. When you enter our practice you are greeted as a guest in our home. We offer you a Complementary Light Snack and a Hot/Cold Refreshment. All of this with the relaxing sounds of Cool Jazz in the background. We encourage you to browse our Exclusive Designer Frames or enjoy a family film in our Kid's Optical Playhouse.

For the most accurate examination, we employ State-of-the-Art Computerized Equipment. After a detailed review of your eye and systemic health history, we will evaluate your neurologic, muscular, and peripheral vision function. The doctor then uses Retinoscopy and Computer Automated Refraction (retinal-reflection refractive instruments) to assist in determining your spectacle prescription. This takes much of the guess-work out of the refraction (less “Better one…or two).

Using Digital Imaging Bio-microscopy, we then evaluate the health of the anterior or the front parts of the eye.

This allows us to identify dry eye syndromes, allergic conditions, corneal diseases and cataracts, among other things. You will be pleased to find that we use the highest standard of glaucoma testing – a technique that gently measures eye pressure using No-Air-Puff.

Pupil dilation is offered with all comprehensive examinations (please remember your sunglasses). After the drops take full effect, the doctor evaluates your retinal health using a 3-D examination instrument. This and other on-site technology allows him to identify and manage diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal holes and tears, hypertensive retinopathy, glaucoma, and a wide range of other diseases. At Derickson Vision Consultants, you can rest assured that your eye health is in competent hands no matter how complex your condition may be. Dr. Derickson is board certified in the treatment of ocular disease and has a close working relationship with the areas best eye surgeons.
